Issued on 29th Auguust 1942 in sheets of 100 this stamp was valid until May 1945 and depicted Peter Henlein the inventor of the "Nüremberg egg" watch. The stamp design followed the Henlein Memorial in Nüremberg and is inscribed "erfinder der taschenuhr" - 'The inventor of the pocket watch PETER HENLEIN +1542'. A special postmark was issued only on the 6th September 1942 which depicts the Coat of Arms of Nürnberg. The stamp was designed by Manz and printed engraved on sheets (10x5) by the Vienna State Printing Office.
