POSTCARDS
GERMAN OCCUPATION WW2
(ELSASS)
After the armistice with France on 22nd Jun 1940, the French postage stamps remained valid until 17th Aug 1940. Postal stationery used with Alsace postmarks during this period is rare. From 15th Jul 1941 the postage stamps of the German Reich and the overprint issues of Lorraine and Luxembourg were also permitted.

BERLIN POSTAL SHOW
(23/24 Nov 1940)
These two postcards are the same as the 1940 regular German issue PP122-C-110 and PP127-C-52 but now with the pre-printed stamps overprinted 'Elsaβ'. The image is that of an eagle with the inscription "Postwertzeichen | WERBE | SCHAU" emblazoned across its chest. The 3Rpf card is brown and the 6Rpf is green, otherwise they are identical.
3Rpf HINDENBURG
6Rpf HINDENBURG
THE DAY OF THE STAMP
(19th Jun 1941)
These two postcards are a re-issue of the Berlin Postal Show cards shown above except now the colours have changed very slightly and the eagle has a black, three line, diagonal overprint:
'Tag der Briefmarke | zum ersten male | im befreiten Elsaβ'.
3Rpf HINDENBURG
6Rpf HINDENBURG
ONE YEAR OF BEING FREE
(19th Jun 1941)
This postcard was issued to commemorate the City of Strassburg's first year of freedom (I guess that depends on which side you were on), refering to the German liberation/occupation of the elsaβ region. The inscription reads:
'Straβburg - 19 Juni 1941 | == Ein Jahre Deutsch! =='
