This attractive series of artistic wehrmacht postcards was produced by Verlag der Traditionspflege, Berlin Charlottenburg 9, Klaferdamm 24. Other than the publisher's name running vertically along the centre of the card the only other text on the reverse is the series 'C1410' in the bottom right-hand corner and the card number in the centre at the bottom edge.

German mounted troops survey the terrain from the safety of a wooded area. The German's were well known for their use of tanks and other armour but what is less known is their extensive use of horses during the war. Given the weather and terrain in Russia in particular, horses were essential in moving men, supplies and freeing trapped equipment from the muddy quagmires of the steppes.
