Issued 1882. Features a Michel 40 stamp (number in circle with small crown inscribed PFENNIG, without the trailing 'E'). Inscribed along the top and centre 'DEUTSCHE REICHSPOST | POSTKARTE'. Domestic postcards with a print date on the bottom right, Address form with 4 simple lines of dots, with a gap in the 4th line of dots.
Differences in the representation of the print date: P12/01: Month and Year separated by a gap such as '1 82' or '3 84' P12/02: Month and Year not separated by a gap such as '384' or '287'
P12 UNUSED
The two postcards from my collection below, are unused examples of a P12/01 and a P12/02. The P12/01 has a print date of '5 82' (May 1882) and the P12/02 has a date code of '785' (Jul 1885). The P12/01 also has a print gap in the 4th dotted address line at position 'Left 30'. The P12/02 has no such print control gap.

This card is a little different from the usual P12/01 in that it has been printed privately by a business named Wenz & Co. of Leipzig and has a sales grid on the reverse side.
