Issued 1886/1887. This postcard has a decorative border that runs around the entire outer edge with an inscription 'Deutschland -- Allemagne.' in the centre of the upper decoration. The text reads 'Postkarte. - Carte Postal | Weltposverein - Union postale universelle.' directly under the 'Deutschland -- Allemagne' text.

There are two variations of P14 and both versions are shown below. They are identical except for the top right-hand corner of the border.

P14/01 has a border type 'a' where the decoration on the vertical part of the border points to the outside of the card.

The second variety P14/02 has a border type 'b' where the decoration on the vertical part of the border points to the inside of the card.

Valid print date control data:
P14/01: L5, 10, 15, 20, R5 or 15.
P14/02: L5, 10, 15, 20, 30, R5, 15, or 20.

Both versions also have print control data which appears as gaps in the 4th dotted address line. The gaps occur in any one of the following positions:
P14/01: Left 5, or 10, or 15, or 20, or Right 5 or 15.
P14/02: Left 5, or 10, or 15, or 20, or 30, or Right 5, or 15 or 20.

P14 / 02 USED

The following postcards are used P14/02 examples from my collection.

This first postcard was initially cancelled in HAINICMEN on 14th Jun 1887 and was then cancelled again in BURGDORF the following day. HAINICMEN is a small Saxon town in the center of the Central Saxony district, approximately 26 kilometers northeast of Chemnitz. The print control date data is 'Right 5'.

The following example was sent to LICHTENSTEIN. It was posted in BRAUBACH on 13th May 1887, then in ZURICH on the 14th May and finally in LICHTENSTEIN on the 15th May. BRAUBACH is located on the right bank of the River Rhine, approximately ten kilometers south of Koblenz. The print control date data is 'Right 5'.

Like the example above, this card was also sent from BRAUBACH to LICHTENSTEIN. Initially it was posted on the 24th May 1888 but this time it went via AMBULANE on the 25th May, and arrived in LICHTENSTEIN on 26th May. The print control data in this case is 'Left 15'.
