CENTENARY OF THE WARS OF LIBERATION
(May/Oct 1913)
These 3 postcards were published to commemorate the 'Centenary of the Wars of Liberation (1813-1814) and Historical Exhibition' in Breslau held from May through Oct 1913. The design of all three of the cards is the same, the only difference being the colour of the image and texts. There were a number of other postcards issued to commemorate the same event.
The inscription reads:

This first card features the Exhibition poster in grey. There were 200,000 of this version of the card printed in May 1913.

This second card features the Exhibition poster in brown. This example from my collection has been postally used and was cancelled in BRESLAU during the event on 12th Jul 1913. This card is slightly unusual in that it has a regular CDS cancel whereas most examples have the special cancellation inscribed "BRESLAU | Jahrhundertfeier | der | Freiheitskriege". There were 200,000 of this version of the card printed in early June 1913.
