1st W.H.W FUND
(26th Mar 1939)

line
Issued 26th Mar 1939 to commemorate the 1st Winterhilfswerk fund. There were two postcards issued and each has a 3Pf pre-printed Hindenburg Medallion stamp. The first postcard features items that were made in Germany, books, clothes and shoes amd has the following text "Die Deutsche Arbeitsfront | N.S.G. 'Kraft durch Freude' | KdF-Sammlergemeinschaft. Main-Franken" translated as "The German Labor Front | N.S.G. 'Strength through Joy' | KdF collectors' community. Main, Franconia".

The second postcard features a farmer, a woman, a dog and a sign with a 'P', and these are images of some of the hundreds of different pins that were given out to people who donated to the W.H.W street collectors. For more examples of the pins that were made go to ebay and search 'WHW pins', there are many lots for sale that show the pins that were available. This is an entire collecting area on its own.
