Please note the following for this website. Official Postcards are defined as:

1. Postcards of the German Empire issued by the Official German postal Authority, from 1873 until 1945.

2. Postcards that were generally available throughout the entire country and have a pre-printed (Indicia) stamp to cover the cost of postage.

The vast majority of official postcards have no printing on the reverse side so no image of the reverse side is provided, except in the few instances where there was something printed on the reverse of the card.

Issued: 12th Sep 1942. Special postcard for the founding of the European Youth Association in Vienna. The image on the left-hand pane is of a tree symbolising the growth of young people in Europe. The text on the left reads "GRUNDUNGSTAGUNG DES EUROPAISCHEN JUGENDVERBANDES WIEN 1942" - 'FOUNDATIONAL MEETING OF THE EUROPEAN YOUTH ASSOCIATION VIENNA 1942'.

A P309 must have the following characteristics:
(1) 6Pf Blue-green Adolf Hitler head pre-printed stamp. And
(2) Text on left-hand pane does not include additional Stuttgart inscription unlike P309-I below.

Issued: 5th Nov 1942. Re-issue of P309 above but now with additional text "5. Tag | des Groβdeutschen | Briefmarkenhandels | Stuttgart 5. bis 8. Nov 1942".

A P309-I must have the following characteristics:
(1) 6Pf Blue-green Adolf Hitler head pre-printed stamp. And
(2) Additional text on left-hand pane unlike P309 above.
