SG 29
'Victory'

Issued 15th Oct 1946. SG 29 and 29 were recess printed by De La Rue on watermarked 'Script CA' paper and are perf 13½:14. These two stamps were part of the Victory omnibus series issued by territories of the British Empire following the conclusion of the Second World War in 1945. They feature a portrait of King George VI in the foreground and a view of the Houses of Parliament and the River Thames in London, in the background.

The stamp is inscribed with the date '8th June 1946' which is the date, 13 months after VE-Day, that the British people took to the streets to formally celebrate the end of the war.
