Issued 13th Jan 1941. This Minisheet was issued to commemorate the 4th Anniversary of the death of Legionaires Vasile Marin (1904-1937) and Ion Mota (1902-1937). It measures 89 x 55mm and feaatures two stamps (Michel 684, 15 Lei + 15 Lei and Michel 685, 7 Lei + 7 Lei), both imperforate.
Vasile Marin (29th Jan 1904 to 13th Jan 1937) was a Romanian politician, public servant and lawyer. A member of the National Peasants' Party until 1932, Vasile Marin later became a prominent member of the Romanian fascist organization, the Iron Guard. His death in the Spanish Civil War (after volunteering to fight for the Nationalists) alongside the subsequent death of Ion Moța is credited with contributing to the growth of the Iron Guard.
Ion I. Moța [or Motza] (5th Jul 1902 to 13th Jan 1937) was the Romanian nationalist deputy leader of the Iron Guard killed in battle during the Spanish Civil War.
