100th ANNIVERSARY of KRUPP
PP27-C-140
These postcards were published to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Krupp Company. There are several cards, two of which are variations on the two printed-to-private-order postcards: PP27-C-140/01 and /02 which both had pre-printed stamps
No.1
This first card is identical to PP27-C-140/01, the only difference being it does not have a pre-printed stamp. This card differs from No.2 below in that it does not have the text "Herausgegeben vom Essener Verkehrsverein" - 'Published by Essen Tourist Association' inscribed vertically in the centre of the card.This example was also cancelled in ESSEN, this time prior to the war on 9th Aug 1912 and has a self adhesive 5Pf Germania stamp applied.

This second card is identical to PP27-C-140/02, the only difference being it does not have a pre-printed stamp. This card differs from No.1 above in that it has the text "Herausgegeben vom Essener Verkehrsverein" - 'Published by Essen Tourist Association' inscribed vertically in the centre of the card.This particular card was used as a feldpost card (no stamp required) and was cancelled in ESSEN on 13th Aug 1914.
