The first card, PP122-C-33 features an image of an industrial plant and the inscription "Kokswerke der Geliwitzer Gruben." - 'Coke works in the Gliwice mines'. The first coke-fired blast furnace in Europe was built in Gleiwitz in 1796, and it was this industry along with brick factories, mills, distilleries, and other industries that spured the growth of the city.
