Stamps used in territories occupied by the British forces in Eritrea, Italian Somaliland, Cyrenaica, Tripolitania and the Dodecanese Islands. These stamps are Great Britain issue stamps overprinted 'M.E.F' an abbreviation of 'Middle East Forces'. This stamp has a type M3 overprint where the overprint measures 13½mm long, the letters are smooth and regular and the peiods between the letters are more rounded. This stamp is a regular issue SG 488 British stamp with 'M.E.F' overprint.
