Issued: 10th May 1937. Printed recess by John Ash, Melbourne and perf 11.

The coronation of George VI and his wife Elizabeth as king and queen of Great Britain and its Dependencies took place at Westminster Abbey, London, on 12th May 1937. These stamps were part of a larger Omnibus issue of British Empire Coronation stamps.

SG 26B to 39B
Australian Mandate

Issued: 1937 to 1948. Designed by R. A. Harrison and printed recess by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia on unwatermarked paper, perf 11. Stamps SG 26B to 39B are the same design as the 1924 to 1936 stamps catalogued as SG 26A to 39A, however the 'A' stamps were printed on rough-surfaced greyish paper whereas these 'B' stamps were printed on shiny-surfaced white paper.
