28th Feb 1973: SG922 - "Tree Planting Year, British Trees (1st Issue)"
In 1973 the government started a campaign to encourage the planting of trees in gardens, streets and open spaces through out the country. The Oak tree chosen as the symbol for this campaign represents strength and durability. This First Day Cover was designed by Peter Hatch.
