This First Day Cover was designed by John Gibbs and features the four stamps SG1207 to SG1210 designed by Alex Jardine. The four fishes featured include the Salmon (15½p), a Pike (19½p), a trout (26p) and finally a Perch (29p) all of which can be found in British rivers.Official Post Office special postmark

This First Day cover was designed by Douglas Halliday a freelance graphic designer and head of the School of Graphic Design at Newport College in Gwent, Wales. The interlaced cross pattern motif is based on medieval stone carvings found in various parts of Wales. Examples can be found in St. Mary Church (Clwyd), The Parish Church of St. Mary (Newcwys, Clwyd) and the Parish Church of St. Dinoth (Bangor).Official Post Office special postmark
