STAMP BOOKLETS & SE-TENANTS

A stamp booklet is a compilation of stamps, where the stamps are presented in one or more sheets. The value of the stamps may be the same or they may be different. Sometimes intermediate paper sheets are added between the stamp sheets to prevent them from sticking together. These sheets may be used for advertising. There are several methods for assembling the booklets which may involve stapling, gluing or sewing of the pages to form the booklet.

OLYMPIC GAMES

There were two booklets issued that contained Olympic Games stamps. They were issued on 15th June 1936 and comprised a front and back covers as well as two panes and sold for 2RM. For Booklet 42.1 only the outside front cover was printed, for 42.2 the front, inside front and inside back were printed.

For 42.2 The inside front cover had postal rates printed in German and English, whereas the inside back cover had the same information in French and Spanish.
