50th ANNIV of the AUTOMOBILE

These stamps went on sale on 15th February in Berlin Only (as the exhibition was held in Berlin) and from the 24th February they went on sale in the rest of Germany. Valid until 31 Dec 1937. During the exhibition, from the 14th February through to the 2nd March 1936, there was a special postmark used that depicted the first motor car designed and built by Carl Benz.The stamps were designed by Diebitsch and were engraved on sheets (10x10) on coated paper with swastika watermark and were Perf K 14.
