This stamp and a postcard were issued on 8th August 1942 and were valid through May 1945. The stamp celebrates the 10th Anniversary of the National Goldsmith's Institution and was issued in sheets of 50, Perf K14. Designed by Tischer and engraved at the Vienna State Printing Office. There is a special postmark that was used for just one day (18.10.1942) that depicts the Arms of Hanau and is inscribed "Consecration of the Goldsmith's House". Postcard P293 was issued at the same time with a 6 + 4RPf indicia of the same design as the stamp. The postcard was used to encourage membership of the Goldsmith's Institution and there is 1 of 8 different messages printed on the reverse side.
