STAMP DAY
(Tag Der Briefmarke)
Issued: 2nd Oct 1944. The fourth and last 'Day of the Stamp' was designed by Erich Meerwald and printed photogravure on coated paper by the Vienna State Printing Works. It was K 14, unwatermarked and had horizontally ribbed dark yellow gum. Unusually for this series it was issued at the end of the year rather than in January as was the norm for the previous issues.
