Issued: 16th Apr 1952 through 1953. Perf: 13x12½. Designed by Ilgenfritz and featuring Personalities from politics, art and science. This stamp features Ernst Thalmann (1886-1944), politician. Thalmann appears on several other early DDR stamps as well as the 80Pf Michel 340 stamp in this series.
