There were two official postcards (P259 and P260 issued to commemorate the upcoming Summer Olympic Games being held in Berlin from 1st to 16th Aug 1936. Both cards have the same design (a view of the inside of the Olympic Stadium). Apart from the difference in colour P259 has a 6+4Pf pre-printed stamp and P260 has a 15+10Pf pre-printed stamp.

In addition to these commemorative postcards there were also a number of special cancellations used at the various venues around the Olympic sites.

My USED P259 POSTCARDS

This first used P259 was cancelled slightly before the opening of the games, on 24th Jul 1936 in the city of MANNHEIM. As well as the MANNHEIM CDS there is also a special slogan cancel, unrelated to the Olympic Games that advertises the annual "LEIPZIG International Fair" held from 30th Aug until 3rd Sep 1936.
