My Serbian Stamps
1942
The Axis armies, Germany and Italy invaded the Balkans on 6th April 1942 in an effort to protect their southern flank for the eventual invasion of Russia. The campaign lasted a mere 11 days when the Yogoslavian government surrendered. The Yugoslavian state was subsequently divided into 10 sections. Serbia (excluding Macedonia) was placed under the control of the German Army and occupation stamps were produced by the State Printing Office in Belgrade.

Issued: 24th Mar 1942. Aid for prisoners of war. Designs like Michel 54 to 57 but with different colours, no burelage and thick paper.
Michel 66 to 70
"Airmail Stamps"
Issued: 8th Jul 1942. Airmail Stamps, new issue of Yugoslavian stamps, with bright green-blue burelage and black overprint of new value, airplane and country name. Perf K12½.
Michel 71 to 81
"Serbian Cloisters"
Issued: 10th Jan 1942 to 1943. Definitive stamps, Serbian Cloisters. Available on sheets (10x5) and (5x10) on coated paper and various perfs.
Michel 82 to 85
"For the Poor"
Issued: 13th Sep 1942. Fund raising for the poor. Available on sheets (4x4) on thick paper perf K11¾.
Michel 9 to 15
"Postage due Stamps"
Issued: 10th Jan 1942. The same design as Michel 2 to 8 but now with the country name overprinted in a different colour. Available on sheets (10x5) on coated paper perf K12½x12¾.
