Issued to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of negative/positive photographic process by Fox Talbot. This series of stamps features some of the most famous names in British film, photographed by five of the top British portrait photographers. Peter Sellers, photographed by Bill Brandt, David Niven by Cornel Lucas, Alfred Hitchcock by Howard Coster, Vivien Leigh by Angus McBean and Charles Chaplin photographed by Snowdon.

The British film industry has produced such talent as Charles Chaplin, Stan Laurel, Leslie Howard. Vivien Leigh, David Niven and Alfred Hitchcock.

This cover was designed by Keith Bassford.

The 1985 Collectors Pack (CP1307a) was released on 19th Nov 1985 and comprises SG1272 to SG1307.

A 32-page, colour illustrated, hardbound, 1985 Yearbook, with slip case, was also available and covers SG1272 to SG1307.
