Issued: 26th September 1927 to raise funds for the charity "German Aid for the Needy". These 4 stamps feature Germany's second president Paul von Hindenburg and commemorate his 80th birthday. Issued: 10th October 1927. Released to commemorate a Meeting of International Labour Organisations (I.A.A) from the 10th to 15th October 1927. These stamps were manufactured in Berlin with a black overprint "IAA/10.-15. 10. 1927"
Isssued from 1927 through to December 1933 these stamps were for official use only. The stamps depict a denomnation (in Pf) in an oval and a so-called "straw hat pattern". Manufactured on coated paper with a waffle/network watermark, type 'X' upright and Type 'Y' sideways watermark, perf K 14:14¼.
