The Germans brought the railroad to the Kamerun starting in 1909 with the construction of a line from Duala to Jaunde. In 1911 the railway line from Duala to Edea was opened. The new Eseka-Duala railway line was opened in 1913.

(1) (a) Provisional stamp always without '/' between day and month of date slug 31st Jan to May 1913.
(b) Violet ink from 13th Jan to 23rd Nov 1912.
(c) Black ink 23rd Nov 1912 to 6th May 1913.
(d) No year date and also with year date '13' inverted from 31st Jan to 8th Feb 1913.

BONABERI-NKONGSAMBA

The final railway stamps were the Swiss Type. Four digit train numbers and dates were set by turning the slug wheels. Both of these cancels were used from 18th May 1913 to 25th Sep 1914.

(1) There is a gap between the 'Z' or 'Zug' on the left and the date on the right. The example above shows the filling block that was added to this cancel from Dec 1913.
