GERMAN FOREIGN POST OFFICES
MOROCCO
NAVY SHIP POST

line Mail cancelled on board ships sailing between Germany and Morocco was cancelled with a "KAIS DEUTSCHE | MARINE SHIFFSPOST" cancel which had a number (indicating the ship carrying the mail) and the date of the cancellation. Individually numbered cancels were not always held by the same ship, if for example, a ship was in port for an extended period it would return its stamp to the main store and this might be allocated to another ship if it departed before the original stamp holder.
