MY 45th PHILATELIST's DAY
POSTCARDS
Issued 3rd to 5th June 1939 - These two postcards are almost the same and were published to commemorate the 45th Philatelist's Day in Munich in 1939. There are two versions of each card: PP122-C-100/01 and PP142-C-44/01 are blank on the reverse side, whereas PP122-C-100/02 and PP142-C-44/02 have a blue inscription on the reverse which reads "München, Hauptstadt der Bewegung" - 'Munich, birthplace of the movement'. PP122-C-100/01 and /02 have a 3Pf pre-printed Hindenburg Medallion stamp whereas PP142-C-44/01 and /02 both have pre-printed 5Pf Luftpost Stamps.
In addition to these postcards there were also pre-printed envelopes available.

The first of these cards has a pre-printed 3Pf Hindenburg Medallion stamp and the reverse of the card is blank.

Here is another example from my collection. This time the card has been favour cancelled with one of the two special cancels available and inscribed "SALZBURG, 45. DEUTSCHER PHILATELISTENTAG | MÜNCHEN-SALZBURG". The other cancel used to commemorate the occassion is inscribed "MÜNCHEN HAUPTSTADT DER BEWEGUNG, 4. REICHSBUNDESTAG". See below (PP142-C-44-01).

The first of these envelopes has a pre-printed 4Pf Hindenburg Medallion stamp. This example has a third version of special cancellation to commemorate the event, also used in Munich, this one has a different design (the same as the BAYERN stamp seen on the left of the envelope) and inscription "MÜNCHEN | HAUPTSTADT DER BEWEGUNG | 45 Deutscher Philatelisentag".
