GERMAN POSTAL EMPLOYEES
(19th May 1941)
This single postcard was published to honour the workers of the German Postal Service and features an image of a celebration inside the German Hall in Berlin. The pre-printed stamp is a Michel 773 6Rpf stamp with a 9Rpf surcharge, and features a roll call in the Zeesen Youth Camp.
There were a total of six stamps issued alongside this postcard to commemorate the work of the postal service. Approximately 100,000 of these cards were printed and they were valid for use until 31st Dec 1942.

(6) also features a special 'The Day of the Stamp' cancellation, this time used in WIESBADEN on 11th Jan 1942 and inscribed "WIESBADEN | 11.1.42 | TAG DER BRIEFMARKE" and featuring both the K.d.F (Kraft durch Freude) symbol, and also that of the R.d.P. (Reichsbund der Philatelisten). Although this is clearly a cancelled-to-order example, there was no need to add the 6+4Rpf Mozart stamp in order for the collector to get the special cancel.
