NAZI GERMANY
OFFICIAL POSTCARDS
1941
The 1941 postcard page has now been split into four separate pages as it was beginning to get unwieldy. All 1941 Official postcards are now on this page. Official postcards are cards that were issued by the Reich's post office, had pre-printed (indicia) stamps and were widely available throughout German towns and cities.
Secondly Printed to Private Order postcards are postcards that were generally issued by entities that were advertising an event or commemorating an anniversary, and also had pre-printed stamps, but were not widely available throughout Germany (most were only available at the event they were commemorating).
Thirdly Other postcards are postcards that fall into the same general category as printed to private order however they do not have pre-printed stamps.
Finally, Miscellaneous postcards is where you will find postcards that do not fit into the first three categories (i.e. they are not official, they do not have pre-printed stamps, and they do not commemorate an event).

HITLER's BIRTHDAY
As in previous years Hitler's birthday was commemorated by a large number of private postcard issues. One of the more significant sets in 1941 was the one below designed by Axster-Heudtlass which consisted of 8 cards published on the day itself, 20th Apr 1941. Each card has a pre-printed 6Rpf brown Hindenburg Medallion stamp. The eight different designs are 1. Paratroopers, 2. Antiaircraft guns, 3. Motor Cyclists, 4. Coastal defence Artillery, 5. Troops advancing under cover of smoke, 6. Engineers in rubber boats, 7. Torpedo Boat and finally 8. A Ju 87b Stuka dive-bomber. In addition, each card is inscribed 'MIT UNSEREN FAHNENIST DER SIEGE' - Victory with our flags along the bottom edge and 'K.d.F Sammlergruppen, Abgabepries 20Rpf' vertically along the centre divider.
