Serbian Stamps
1943

line The Axis armies, Germany and Italy invaded the Balkans on 6th April 1943 in an effort to protect their southern flank for the eventual invasion of Russia. The campaign lasted a mere 11 days when the Yogoslavian government surrendered. The Yugoslavian state was subsequently divided into 10 sections. Serbia (excluding Macedonia) was placed under the control of the German Army and occupation stamps were produced by the State Printing Office in Belgrade.
