1920
4th Feb 1920
COVER from BERLIN to ELBERFELD
This cover was cancelled on 4.2.1920 however the two 10Pf Germania stamps are not the 1920 version (it was yellow, not red). They appear to be earlier versions, one a Michel 86I 'peacetime' printing and the other a Michel 86II 'war time printing'. The stamp on the left is darker with heavier lines (war time) than the one on the right which is lighter and brighter. The font used in "DEUTSCHES REICH" is also different. It's a shame the peacetime stamp is damaged.
