OFFICIAL POSTCARDS
1937
The 1937 postcard page has now been split into four separate pages as it was beginning to get unwieldy. All 1937 Official postcards are now on this page. Official postcards are cards that were issued by the Reich's post office, had pre-printed (indicia) stamps and were widely available throughout German towns and cities.
Secondly Printed to Private Order postcards are postcards that were generally issued by entities that were advertising an event or commemorating an anniversary, and also had pre-printed stamps, but were not widely available throughout Germany (most were only available at the event they were commemorating).
Thirdly Other postcards are postcards that fall into the same general category as printed to private order however they do not have pre-printed stamps.
Finally, Miscellaneous postcards is where you will find postcards that do not fit into the first three categories (i.e. they are not official, they do not have pre-printed stamps, and they do not commemorate an event).

GET TO KNOW GERMANY
Issued 1937. The sixth Hindenburg series of Get to Know Germany appeared in mid-1937 and is referred to as P238 in the Michel series. In this series the green tones, images and text colour returns, but the pre-printed Hindenburg stamp is now a 5Rpf stamp rather than the original 6Rpf stamp. This set bears the printers number 37-97-1-BX and consists of 9 cards. Each card has the heading 'Lernt Deutschland Kennen!' but card No.6 advertising Schierke, has an additional subheading 'Gesundung Erholing bietet' loosely translated as 'Recovery offers recovery'.

1st Oct 1937. This Official postcard was used to celebrate The Harvest Thanksgiving in 1937. There was also a special cancel used in Bückeburg inscribed 'Bückeburg | Erntedanktag'

Issued 22nd Nov 1937 to raise funds for the Winter Relief Fund and valid for use until 30th Jun 1938. The card features a 6Rpf stamp with an additional 4Rpf for the charity. The card was available with a special cancel in 12 different cities.
