STAMPS
1945
MICHEL 13
U-Boat (SUBMARINE POST)
(Hela)
Issued: Mar 1945. This stamp is a permission stamp fpr use by troops stationed on the Hela Peninsula. Printed broken cutting lines between stamps and no gum.
This stamp issue was ordered by the 31st Infantry Division and was intended for postal transport via submarine, which by its very nature was restricted. Ships could still reach Hela until it capitulated on May 8th 1945 so the stamos were not used as intended.
