German possession since 7th Aug 1884 with the Post Office starting on 17th July 1888.
German Southwest Africa, now the area occupied by Namibia, is located on the southwest coast of Africa. The postal network started in July 1888 and almost 100 post offices were created up until the First World War. German Southwest Africa was handed over to the South African Union on the 9th July 1915.

Stamp (2) above is cancelled with the "WINDHUK DSWA" 'a' version of the cancel, which was used from 1st Sep 1903 until Jan 1906. The 'b' version was used from 1st Sep 1903 until 11th May 1915.
Stamp (3) above is likely cancelled "JAKALSWATER DSWA" with a cancel used from 5th Jan 1900 until 13th Apr 1912.
Stamp (4) has a nice, crisp earlier version "KARIBIB DSWA" cancel in use from 1st Jul 1900 until Jan 1911.
