Designed by: E. Hughes and issued: 19th Jan 1988, Set of 4 Stamps on phosphorised paper, P15 x 14. There is also a First Day Cover, Presentation Pack (Pack No. 187) and a set of 4 PHQ Cards. The post office used 2 first day of issue special postmarks, the first depicts a plant with two drooping flowers and the inscription "FIRST DAY OF ISSUE BRITISH PHILATELIC BUREAU EDINBURGH - 19 JAN 1988" and the second one shows a large styalised letter 'L' and has the inscription "FIRST DAY OF ISSUE BURLINGTON HOUSE LONDON W1 - 19 JANUARY 1988".

The post office used 2 first day of issue special postmarks, the first depicts the signature of 'William Morgan' (who translated the Bible into Welsh in 1588) and the inscription "FIRST DAY OF ISSUE PHILATELIC BUREAU EDINBURGH - 1 MAR 88" and the second one shows the house where Morgan was born, Tŷ Mawr Wybrnant, in the parish of Penmachno, near Betws-y-Coed, North Wales and has the inscription "FIRST DAY OF ISSUE DYDD CYHOEDDIAD CYNTAF TY MAWR WYBRNANT GWYNEDD - 1 MAR 88".

The post office used 4 first day of issue special postmarks, the first depicts a bee with four letter 'B's' below it and the inscription "FIRST DAY OF ISSUE BRITISH PHILATELIC BUREAU EDINBURGH - 6 SEPT 1988" and the second one shows a human figure with a very large head and has the inscription "FIRST DAY OF ISSUE EDINBURGH - 27 SEPT 1988". The third special postmark shows a man being ferried across a river by a swan/goose and is inscribed "FIRST DAY OF ISSUE LONDON N1 - 6 SEPT 1988" and the fourth postmark shows a cat standing on one leg and is inscribed "FIRST DAY OF ISSUE LONDON N22 - 27 SEPT 1988".
