This stamp (Michel 644) was issued in sheets of 100 on 3rd March 1937 and was valid through 31st December 1937. The stamp depicts an air raid warden of the Reichs Luftschutz Bund (National Air Defence League) holding a protective shield which sybolises protecting the community.

This engraved stamp was based on a poster by Prof. Hohlwein (see the righthand pane) and was produced on sheets (10x10) on unwatermarked paper and was Perf K14.
