STAMP DAY
(Tag der Briefmarke)

There were no special stamps issued to commemorate the day of the stamp in 1939 however it was 'celebrated' from the 7th to the 9th of January and featured the Winter Relief 'Ostmark and flowers' series from 1938 on a special souvenir sheet. There were also 2 special Postcards and a series of special postmarks used during this event.

These special sets of stamps were issued on 'cancelled to order' cards sold at the automobile show in Berlin. There were 4 different cards issued, one for each of the following banks: Deutsche Bank, Dresdner Bank, Vienna Lӓnderbank and the Austrian Credit Agency Vienna Bank. These items occur in a variety of shades. There was also an official poster used to advertise the show and it can be seen on the right.
