The following stamp was issued on 10th March 1942 to commemorate Hero's Day 1942. This stamp was designed by Prof. Richard Klein from a bronze by Paul Bronisch. The stamp was issued on sheets of 50 stamps and was unwatermarked Perf K 14. A special postmark was used for one day (15.3.1942) which depicted a sword with inscription 'They died for Greater Germany' and was issued from either Berlin, Munich or Vienna.
