MICHEL 818
S.A. MILITARY TRAINING MONTH
(Wettkampftage der SA)
This stamp, issued on 8th August 1942 and valid through May 1945 celebrates the foundation of the S.A. Sports Medal. This medal was a very prestigious award that was handed out to S.A. members who achieved a high standard in several events during S.A. Sports week. Produced Perf K 14 and designed by Axster-Heudtlass on sheets of 100, these stamps exist in a wide variety of shades from very light to very dark violet. The events were held in different towns on different dates and each town had its own special postmark, available only on that day. There were 10 different cities that used this postmark. (requires verification).
