Michel 610
"Deák Square Lutheran Church"
Issued: 1st Jul 1939. Printed photogravure on watermarked 9 paper and perf 12¼. Size 26 x 33mm. The design and denomination is the same as Michel 676 issued in 1941 and similar to Michel 720 issued in 1943 but the colour, denomination, watermark and perfs differ.
This stamp features Deák Square Lutheran Church, Budapest 's oldest and best-known evangelical church without a tower. The neoclassical style church is the largest Protestant church in Budapest. There are many other Lutheran institutions in the block, which is connected to the neighboring buildings, so the area is often referred to as Insula Lutherana ("Lutheran Island").
