Michel 676
"Deák Square Lutheran Church"
Issued: 1942 to celebrate the Church in Hungary. This stamp was printed photogravure on watermarked 10 paper, perf 12½:12. This stamp is very similar to the 1939 Michel 610 and the 1943 Michel 720 only with different colours, watermark and perfs.
This stamp features Deák Square Lutheran Church, Budapest 's oldest and best-known evangelical church without a tower. The neoclassical style church is the largest Protestant church in Budapest. There are many other Lutheran institutions in the block, which is connected to the neighboring buildings, so the area is often referred to as Insula Lutherana ("Lutheran Island").
