Michel 720
"Deák Square Lutheran Church"
Issued: 1st Jan 1943 and featuring a Church. This stamp measures 26 x 33mm and was printed photogravure on watermark 10 paper and is perf 12¼. This stamp has a very similar design to the 1939 Michel 610 and 1941 Michel 676 only now with changed colour, denomination and background on watermark 10 paper.
This stamp features Deák Square Lutheran Church, Budapest 's oldest and best-known evangelical church without a tower. The neoclassical style church is the largest Protestant church in Budapest. There are many other Lutheran institutions in the block, which is connected to the neighboring buildings, so the area is often referred to as Insula Lutherana ("Lutheran Island").
