WEIMAR REPUBLIC
BOOKLETS
(Markenheftchen)
1919

Stamp booklets have been a common way of distributing stamps for many years and provide the convenience of having a number of denominations in a single package. The German name for these stamp booklets is 'Markenheftchen' and these have been available since the first official booklets were released in 1910. They haven't changed much in the following 100 years and usually consist of one or more sheets of 6 stamps separated by an interleave sheet which stops the stamps sticking together. They can be either stapled or woven but other than that, the design and construction is very similar.
