This official envelope was issued 1st Jan 1872 and was not for use in Bavaria or Württemburg. The value stamp is a 1 Groschen, eagle with small breastplate Michel 4 stamp.
There are four versions of this official envelope:
U1-I-A: Envelope measures 147 x 84mm. Right-hand denomination "1" measures 3.5mm.
U1-I-B: Envelope measures 148 x 115mm. Right-hand denomination "1" measures 3.5mm.
U1-II-A: Envelope measures 147 x 84mm. Right-hand denomination "1" measures 4mm.
U1-II-B: Envelope measures 148 x 115mm. Right-hand denomination "1" measures 4mm.
This envelope is the same as Michel U3 only U3 has a large shield.
